Two sisters, three languages

Quality interpreting and translation services do not only require excellent knowledge of the languages concerned. The intercultural competence of the interpreter and translator often plays a key role. It gives the text the right "soul" so that it doesn't sound like a translation, and when interpreting, it allows us to convey exactly what you mean in the foreign language.

Thanks to our bilingual background, we have the ability to see the world from the perspective of a native English and German speaker. We can therefore both faithfully convey the content and maintain the intended function of the message. In other words, we can help you express exactly what you want to say and safely avoid the pitfalls of cross-cultural communication.

Sworn interpreter and translator appointed by the Regional Court in Brno.

After completing her Master's degree in English and German at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno, Ivona completed graduate course in conference interpreting at the Institute of Translatology of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, where she obtained the EUROMASTERS certificate. During her studies, she participated in exchange stays at the Universität Duisburg-Essen in Essen, Westminster University in London, and also practiced interpreting at the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Court of Justice.

Lenka Volmer, M.A.

Interpreter and translator

Sworn interpreter appointed by the Oberlandesgericht Potsdam, Germany.
She has passed the State Interpreting and Translation Examination in German (SJŠ Brno).

Lenka studied German, Economic Policy and Communication Sciences at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany. During her studies she was a member of the International Society for Special Languages. After her studies, she passed the State Interpreting and Translation Examination in German and Czech at the State Language School in Brno with honours. She has obtained a Certificate in Court Interpreting and Translation of Documents at the Berlin Academy of Foreign Languages.
